The Baby Pantry is a community resource for Montcalm Area families needing items for their child ages newborn through four years of age. It is not intended to be a primary source of goods. Instead, The Pantry assists families during short-term crises. The Baby Pantry was started with the award of an innovation support grant and is modeled after other successful local Michigan pantries.
Child between the ages of 0-4 and a self-determined need for assistance.
No appointment is necessary. We require parent's names, address, child(ren)'s names, birthdates, parent's proof of ID (driver's license or State ID) and proof of birth.
Baby cereal, baby food, diapers (size 1-5), formula (not all brands available), clothing from 0-5T and other baby/toddler items.
We are a supplemental pantry and limits are placed on the amount of goods each family may take. We can not be considered your primary source for goods. All items are free. Families may use the pantry once every two weeks if needed.
Mothers-to-be can shop once before the baby is born. We ask that you wait until you are about a month from delivery. Items given out are diapers, onesies, sleepers/nightgowns and blankets.
With more than 800 births each year to Montcalm County families, it is currently impossible to reach every family and ensure their basic needs are being met. The majority of families in Montcalm get by with little or no formal assistance but many need help at some time. When hard times come, it is a comfort to know that a resource exists to help with short-term needs. The Baby Pantry is a place where families can come to find help, support and hope in meeting those needs.
The Pantry's caring, trained volunteers assist families who come
to the Baby Pantry. Current Pantry hours are every Tuesday
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and every first and third Tuesday of each
month from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Since the Baby Pantry is a volunteer run operation, the Pantry relies on Montcalm Area individuals, businesses and organizations for support through financial contributions, donations of goods, talents and time.
The most common items the Baby Pantry provides to families include formula, diapers, food, gently used clothing and other items when available.
Donations of items to the Pantry can be dropped off at the church
by calling (989) 831-5728.
Checks can be made out to "Baby Pantry" and sent in care of the Baby Pantry, 400 N. Lincoln St., Stanton, MI 48888.
